Shogun Japanese Steakhouse in Cordova

Usually great, but they took an hour on my sushi and I had to take it to go. Sushi is best fresh, if I'm being honest.

Habachi Chef was absolutely great, catered well to the children, would give 5 stars just for him, but alas. Waitress was awful, serving must not be her forte. Didn't get my ordered drink til AFTER my meal, then gave me attitude when I brought it up, instead of checking herself. Not only my drink, but my sushi roll wasn't brought out until the end of my meal. Very rude, extremely unprofessional and won't be going again until staff is more trained in the area of service, since this is supposed to be a family experience, prided on their services. I'll advise anyone who would begin too even suggest going, based on this experience not to go here.

Best hibachi around!! Excellent food, service is great and the chefs make it fun. Sushi is good as well! Have a great bar area up front with big TV.

Absolutely terrible service, but the food was good though. Our chef did not talk much, overall bad experience at the table. So much more I can say, but I'm not wasting anymore of my time with this.

Great Place. The atmosphere is perfect. Everyone gives a warm welcome and the food is amazing.

This needs a 0 star option! My wife and I went in and stood there waiting. A man came in to waiting area and told us to leave. My first ever review I wrote! Great job Shoguns! Benihana here we come!

The owner was so rude. He did not want to recook our food which was undone and now we have food poisoning. I would not recommend anyone to go here.

Great place. I came for my birthday and I got treated like a KING they gave me a fruit bowl, an cake and good costumer service. And our chef may have took an long time but when he came, he was amazing. Nice, funny and good to be around

Stood at the hostess stand for 15 minutes while servers walked by and just ignored us. We just left and decided to go somewhere else.

Did not like this place to much. I mean parking was convenient. Front of the house was basic The chef.....cook or whatever was boring. I had my 5 year old nephew with me. The guy cooking had no tricks or conversation. I was disappointed.

Food was great and the waitress did a good job, but the restaurant was a bit dirty and it took a long time to be seated even though it wasn't terribly busy

Very Fun, and the food was very Delicious!! Our Chef Phil was Phenomenal!!! He kept us laughing while preparing our meal. This was one the Best Birthday celebration I've had!! Thank you!!

Awesome food. The Memphis one is not as good as the Houston one but, still good.

Was SUPER great!! Service could have been a tiny bit faster. Drink never went empty and our table mates at the hibachi were truly bros.

This sushi place has a very diverse menu, full of options for sushi. They also have a large selection for vegetarians and vegans. Even fried tofu roll which is delicious.They have a very relaxing atmosphere with lighting that is lovely for dating. Cultural art is implemented on a level most pleasing to the eyes. It can be appreciated as a work of art and cultural endeavor for anyone who enjoys Japanese food and culture.

I love this place. Don't be afraid to interact with your cook for a better the show.

Good food and great place for a bday

Wished there was a zero star option they don’t deserve a one star!!!!! So I just stopped in to get a to go order paid 69$ for three plates even paid for extra rice didn’t get it but paid for it! The noodles are dry way over cooked! My veggies included 2 pieces of broccoli and a sliver of carrots and an entire side of onion the onions are nearly raw. My steak is about 6 pieces in hibachi and I ordered medium but it’s nearly burnt hard to chew! I wish I would have paid with debit card I’d definitely dispute the transaction! Very horrible!!! Would not recommend it use to go all the time it was very good but not anymore!!! I’m so upset I can’t even begin how to explain how I feel right now! Definitely not Japanese culture anymore! Best thing could happen now is just to close the doors at this point.

It was my first time there and I am looking forward to going back. I live 40 minutes away but it was so worth the ride. The chef was great and I enjoyed seeing the way that my food was cooked. Great job!!!

Went to eat lunch there. Very Pleased Had a $10 special service and chef were very good. I will be back!!!

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and it was wonderful. Fast, friendly service and Mike is officially our favorite hibachi chef we've EVER had. He kept us entertained and laughing the entire time. Highly recommend.

Weird. We were ushered directly to a hibachi table. We told them we wanted a regular table and the man seating us seemed worried. He took us to a table at the sushi area a proceeded to tell at the servers from behind the sushi bar. We gave our orders to him at our table and then he went to make the sushi himself. The whole time, he and staff yelled at each other. 35 minutes later or food was ready. We suffered through mounds of rice and gray, flavorless fish. We couldn't get out fast enough. Weird environment.Hostile staff.Bad food.Not going back.

Horrible customer service! As we walked in an employee told us that they would not serve us! The time was 2120 and they closed at 2200. He was very rude and disrespectful! I would never spend a dime there!!!

This place is really good. I used to stop by more frequently, but only occasionally now. You can no longer just order a side of fried rice to go. But, as far as dine in orders go..... The food is absolutely delicious. The staff is always friendly, and restaurant is clean. Hard to ask for much more.

We went there today and was not impressed by the lack of attention we received upon arriving. Nobody came to seat or greet us for almost 10 minutes and when someone did, the treatment was not as expected of a place where they want your business. The host just told us to follow him... did not even ask how we were doing or apologize for the delay. This was our first time.... I would like to give them benefit of the doubt in this case but they're pieces are not low to be providing low level of customer service. I hope they work on this and provided better training.The food was good (about as average as any hibachi place) but nothing was outstanding!

I highly recommend you go here for the experience. Having your food cooked in front of you is exciting and fun. They are doing everything they can for social distancing while still maintaining the fun. My kids were super excited about going and they were very friendly. The cooks are always doing something fun for the kids and the food is pretty good. I recommend asking for the fillet instead of just the regular steak

It wasn't the best hibachi and service could have been a little better. It wouldn't stop me going back. The atmosphere was warm.

I'm pretty sure the server was new, but, the bottle of wine we ordered didn't come out for a long time and we had to ask about it several times. The soup and salad also didn't come until they were already giving out shrimp and by then everyone was waiting for drink refills on coke, water, and tea. Everyone was polite and apologetic, but, the service was pretty terrible. The food was really good, but the service and timing ruined it.

’ve been wanting to try this place for awhile but I have never had the time. At the beginning of the week me and my boyfriend agreed to go on a date here. All week I have been excited only to get here before 10:00 PM and be told that they were closing. Me and boyfriend were extremely disappointed but thought maybe we just looked at the times online wrong. So when we walked out we glanced at the times posted and sure enough it says that they close at 11pm on Friday. Extremely disappointed, and will not be returning.

Great show by the cook. I couldn't eat what he prepared *allergies* nevertheless food was amazing. Steaks that melt in your mouth. The sake was sweet ( yum) We had a birthday party here for a niece. Its great!!!

Food was not good. Service was ok not servers fault our sushi never showed.. just not up to par for shogun..other locations are delicious this one not so much.

I hadn't been to Shogun in a very, very long time so I didn't know what to expect once we got inside. We were pleasantly surprised to see a very clean restaurant with a nice and attentive staff. The server was great, and the cook was wonderfully entertaining, even for our kids. Seriously the best cook I've had in years. Food was fantastic. It seems like every hibachi place I go to always struggles to keep the AC anywhere near cool enough to be comfortable, but Shogun's was working great even in July! Was so nice to enjoy a great hibachi meal without sweating.
